The Tradition Continues...
Teaming to Win 2003 a Huge Success
With a full agenda of activities, including a trade show, one-on-one counseling sessions and, for the first time, a panel discussion on biometrics, Teaming to Win 2003, held recently at Mountaineer Race Track and Gaming Resort in Chester, was by all accounts a huge hit.
With a near-record number of more than 530 registered attendees, the annual business conference continued to build on its tradition of "teaming” the idea that small businesses in the state can combine their resources and compete for and win more federal contracts. The event attracted nearly 100 booths and a record number of 30 corporate sponsors.
“We're very happy with the success of this year’s conference and want to thank all the small businesses and federal agencies that participated,” said Shayne Naugle, co-director of Teaming to Win 2003. “It would not have been a success without the participation of each and every business and agency."

"It was a great honor for me to be involved with recognizing the companies and individuals who have been instrumental in fostering relationships within West Virginia," said Donna Ozburn, chairman of the Teaming to Win 2003 Awards Committee.
A little more than a decade ago, Congressman Alan B. Mollohan (D-W.Va.) crafted a plan to improve West Virginia’s federal procurement dollar status. One of the cornerstones of that plan was the strategy of “teaming,” whereby several small businesses could pool their resources and thus be able to compete for and win more federal contracts. As a result, Teaming to Win was born on May 15, 1990.
"Teaming to Win 2003 was one of the best ever," said Shelly Montgomery, co-director of Teaming to Win 2003. "I would like to thank Congressman Mollohan for his continued support and vision. I also thank the Board of Directors and the Teaming to Win 2003 Committee for a job so very well done."
