| Comments: | | Technology Development Assistance is an exciting new feature at Teaming to Win 2002. It provides an opportunity for entrepreneurs to have counseling sessions with experts in technology development and commercialization. Counseling sessions like this, if they could be arranged, could easily cost thousands of dollars.
Our region is blessed with some of the leading research and development institutions in the nation. While they are predominately focused on large high-tech issues they have experience, skills and contacts that are useful to entrepreneurs from mechanics to the software developers.
Technology Development Assistance extends our proven one-on-one counseling session technique into new product development by connecting potential developers with regional agency scientific, technical and development experts.
Each entrepreneur that registers will be assigned an appointment with the Technology Development Assistance Team, comprised, of senior representatives from federal, state, and non-profit R&D organizations. After all team members sign a non-disclosure form to protect the firms’ intellectual property rights the entrepreneur will present their idea, what they have done, what technical problems they have encountered, and where they would like to go with their product. The team will engage in conversation with the entrepreneur and among themselves identify possible solutions and suggestions on ways they may be able to help. The entrepreneur will leave with the ideas, suggestions, and a list of contacts.
