Degaussers used for the complete erasure of data and other signals on magnetic & optical media, totally removing sensitive data and/or rendering the media totally obliterated. The degaussing process is achieved by passing magnetic media (tapes, hard drives, etc.)through a powerful alternating magnetic field to rearrange the pattern of magnetic particles, completely removing any resemblance to the previously recorded signal. A patent pending "micro-machining" technique completely removes the data bearing surface of optical media (CD) below the label area, creating "dust" particles, while retaining the inner hub identification of the CD. NSA and DoD approved for the secure, routine destruction of classified and sensitive CD-R and CD-RW media.
