Welcome to the Miracle Group Home Page!

This homepage is dedicated to CCAI's "Miracle Group". We are a group of parents who traveled to adopt our Chinese daughters in March of 1999. We are called the "Miracle Group" because it is truly a miracle that we were able to complete our adoptions before the Chinese adoption laws changed in April of 1999! The purpose of the law change was to "open up" adoptions - allowing people who already had children to adopt Chinese babies without special needs. Unfortunately, the new laws also made it impossible for anyone under 30 years of age to adopt from China. All of the families in our group had at least one parent under the age of 30 as of April 1, 1999. When the law changes were announced in November of 1998, many of us were relatively "new" to the adoption process. We had just finished our dossiers (or were almost finished with them), and were expecting to wait many months for our referrals. Because the law change would prohibit us from adopting after April 1st, our agency - Chinese Children Adoption International (CCAI) - did everything in their power to "speed up" the process for us. We are so very grateful for their work on our behalf. We are also very grateful to the Chinese government for their speedy work which allowed us to meet the deadline. We returned home from China on March 31, 1999 (the day before the law change took effect!) with our beautiful daughters! Words cannot describe the joy they have brought us! The girls in our group are:

Our daughters were adopted from Jiujiang Social Welfare House in Jiujiang, Jiangxi Province, PRC. Click here to visit a wonderful Web Site designed by Peggy Gurrad with lots of information about adoptions in Jianxi province, and great pictures of the orphanage! While adopting our daughters, we stayed in Nanchang, a large city about 1 1/2 hours away from Jiujiang. We spent several days in Jin Feng Hotel, a wonderful place! If you have a chance, stop by Jin Feng Hotel for a"dry wash with massage" - what an experience! We also visited the magnificent Teng Wang Pavillion - a must see if you are in Nanchang.
I hope to add a lot more information to this page in the future. If you have any suggestions, please email me!
